Yoga Lab | Functional Assisting for Yoga Teachers
Friday June 19 | 5:30 - 8:30pm
Led by Angela Bompiani | $75
Eligible for YACEP continuing education credits for registered yoga teachers.
This hands-on lab is designed for teachers looking to refine the skill of physical assisting and deepen the way they support students in practice.
We’ll begin with a brief discussion on the role of assisting - types of touch, intention, and discernment - then move quickly into an extended lab environment. Through partner work and real-time feedback, you’ll practice and receive assists, explore application across a range of postures, and begin to fine-tune both technique and timing.
We’ll close with a practicum-style “typewriter” assist sequence to help integrate what you’ve learned in a more continuous, class-like flow.
The focus is not just on what to do, but how and when - developing clarity in your touch, sensitivity to the individual body, and trust in your own decision-making as a teacher. Expect to leave with a more nuanced understanding of assisting and greater confidence bringing it into your classes.
